Ever wondered what those marks are on your paint? All is explained here and how swirl removal is acheived.

Over time your paint will aquire what are known as "defects". You will see these when light hits your car, they are tiny scratches that resemble spider webs, or "holograms" which look like smears all over your car. These are inflicted by poor wash technique, such as dirty sponges and auto car washes that use hard brushes, and poor use of a machine polisher, usually inflicted after your car has been in a bodyshop and the machinist has not broken the polish down well enough. Paint correction involves the use of an orbital polisher and a combination of polishes and techniques. We use a special tool that measures the thickness of your paint,so we can ensure the best and safest level of correction. We measure your paint levels throughout the polishing process, but its not as harsh as it sounds, we remove paint by the 1000th of a millimetre. Paint correction is 90% as good as a respray, but a tenth of the cost. Prices start from £200. Call us today for a free inspection of your car (area dependant). With every paint correction detail we will also show you a safe wash technique and car care regime to keep those unsightly marks at bay.
The picture below shows swirl marks that are highlighted by sunlight.

This picture shows how the paint is being corrected, note the swirl marks are still present at one side, but are gone on the other where the paint has been corrected.

After the swirls have been removed and a sealant and wax have been applied, the end results are as a car should be. The following are from the same car after paint correction and waxing.
